On Friday, March 21st postdocs from across campus came together to share their current research with the broader Queen鈥檚 community. Similar to 3 Minute Thesis, presenters had three minutes and one static slide to summarize their research and convey its importance to a panel of judges and the audience. It is no easy task to summarize and contextualize years of specialized research and present it in an engaging manner 鈥 let alone in 3 minutes!

The audience learned about exciting research happening in Biology, Physics, Management, Computing, and multiple Engineering departments. Each participating postdoc shared their work in a clear and comprehensible way. A panel of judges from the alumni community and Queen鈥檚 University staff with experience in research and communications provided their evaluations and selected this year鈥檚 winners:

1st place: Dr. Jahnavi Shah, Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering, 鈥淭he Impact of Giant Impacts鈥

2nd place: Dr. Thamali Kariyawasam, Chemical Engineering, 鈥淗arnessing genetically-modified microalgae for diabetic foot ulcer wound care鈥

3rd place: Dr. Jenson Price, School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, 鈥淗ow can we make sure the education physical activity professionals receive is inclusive and empowering for everyone?鈥
