Queen's is proud to announce that Sara Stickley (PhD student in Biomedical & Molecular Sciences) is the winner of this year's Matariki 3MT. The title of Sara's presentation was "Trust your gut...microbiota: It may be the key to uncovering childhood asthma risk". Sara's supervisor is Dr Qingling Duan.
Seven of the Matariki members forwarded their two best doctoral 3MT participants to be a part of this year's event. Queen's second participant was Sumaiya Karim (Chemical Engineering) whose presentation title was - "Shaping a clearer future with Dynamic Materials
Other Results for 2024 were:
Runner-up 鈥 Josie Quin-Conroy (UWA) - 鈥淭hinking with both sides of the brain鈥 (Psychological Science);
Runner-up 鈥 Linda Wilson (UWA) 鈥 鈥淏eyond the birds and the bees: Engaging beekeeper鈥檚 knowledge of the environment to improve management of public lands in South-west Western Australia鈥 (Social Sciences, Geography).
People鈥檚 Choice 鈥 Miriam Schiele (T眉bingen) 鈥 鈥淗arry Potter and the Philosopher鈥檚 Preposition: English flexibility vs German precision 鈥(Linguistics).
