The Internet identity for Queen’s University and its faculties, departments and units is based on the .queensu.ca internet Domain Name.
In brief, all websites and web services provided by the Queen’s University community as part of an official university function shall fall within the queensu.ca domain and sub domain structure. Exceptions can be approved. These must be logged in the Domain Registry List maintained by Information Technology Services.

A sub-domain is a name that prepends a parent domain name such as .queensu.ca, in order to more specifically reference a particular website or system (e.g., yourname.queensu.ca). Under certain technical constraints, it may be desirable to use a subdomain.
