Queen’s University collects personal information from job applicants and employees in order to support its recruitment and personnel management functions, including hiring, payroll, and benefits and pension administration. Information includes home contact information, employment history, educational history, date of birth and potentially family details.
Most labour relations and employment-related records fall outside the scope of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act per of the Act. Therefore, employees can access their own employment-related records in accordance with university policies and relevant collective agreements.
Employment records contain sensitive personal information and will be protected like other personal and confidential information in accordance with the university’s privacy and cybersecurity policies, procedures and standards.
