Queen鈥檚 University (鈥淨ueen鈥檚鈥) owns, operates, and maintains鈥痶he websites of the queensu.ca鈥痙omain and its subdomains and other Queen鈥檚 domains such as鈥痶heisabel.ca鈥痑nd鈥痝ivetoqueens.ca (the "Sites"). By accessing, browsing or using the Sites, you accept and agree to terms of use (the "Terms") below.鈥 

Queen鈥檚 University may amend the Terms at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to review the current posted version of the Terms each time you use the Sites as you will be bound by such amendments.鈥痀ou can use browser options or other tools to opt out of information-collecting services or exit the Sites immediately if you do not accept or agree to the Terms.鈥 

Data Collected on Queen鈥檚 University Websites 

Queen鈥檚 University IT Services log web server interactions. These server logs include your Internet Protocol (IP) address and may also include other information about your activity on the Sites, such as date, time, pages visited, and browser type.鈥 

When you visit the Sites, Queen鈥檚 collects information through JavaScript tracking codes and cookies. Queen鈥檚 uses third-party tools, such as Google Analytics, to collect and analyze anonymous and aggregated data. Information generated about your use of the Sites is transmitted to analytics service providers鈥 servers both inside and outside Canada.鈥

With its web analytics tools, the University cannot identify individual users.鈥 

Information the University collects on its websites includes:鈥 

  • How users arrive on our websites. For example, if they come from Google Search, social media or paid campaigns鈥 

  • How users interact with Queen's websites. For example, which pages they visit, links they click, and how long they stay鈥 

  • General de-identified demographic information, such as user location, gender and age groups鈥

Queen鈥檚 University collects and analyzes website data:鈥

  • monitor the usage,鈥 

  • optimize University communications,鈥 

  • inform marketing campaigns,鈥痑nd 

  • enhance the user experience and performance of the Sites

Queen鈥檚 University uses remarketing as an advertising practice. Remarketing tracks the activity of users who have visited the Sites as they continue to other websites. As a result of remarketing campaigns, third-party services (for example, Google Ads) may display advertising or messaging from the University on other websites, Google Search, or social channels.鈥

Queen鈥檚 University has profile pages on various social media channels (鈥渟ocial channels鈥), for example, on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit and TikTok. The University posts on social channels and communicates with direct messages with users.鈥

The social channels provide de-identified and aggregated data about University profiles, posts, and direct messages. The University uses third-party tools, such as Hootsuite, to analyze social data.鈥

  • How many users see and engage with Queen鈥檚 University social posts鈥 

  • How many users message Queen鈥檚 University on social channels 

  • What kind of Queen鈥檚 University content users see and engage with, such as posts, tweets and reels鈥 

  • Mentions of Queen鈥檚 University in social content鈥 

Users who react to Queen鈥檚 University posts, comment, send messages or mention 成人大片 in their posts can be identified.鈥 

How Queen鈥檚 University Uses Social Media Data鈥 

Queen鈥檚 University collects and analyzes social media data:鈥

  • To monitor the usage of social posts and profiles and understand their performance,鈥 

  • Enhance Queen鈥檚 University communication with social audiences,鈥

Targeted Advertising

Queen's may use personal information it holds to run social media marketing campaigns targeting custom audiences. Information provided to social media platforms is encrypted so that the data is unreadable by the platform during the matching process. Queen's is provided only with a count of how many users have been matched for advertising. Users can control their ad settings on the social media platforms themselves to opt out of this type of advertising.

Queen鈥檚 University offers a variety of newsletters. If you subscribe to a University newsletter, you accept its terms of use (鈥淭erms鈥).鈥 

Queen鈥檚 uses third-party tools, such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, and Encompass, to send newsletters and collect data about interactions with the newsletter.鈥
