RARC offers several exciting initiatives to support students with disabilities as they transition to high school, post-secondary school, and beyond. These free transition programs help participants build skills and knowledge, while also meeting others with similar experiences in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Our programs address topics such as self-understanding and self-esteem, IEPs and accommodations, assistive technology, self-advocacy, stress management, and positive mental health.

Programs local to Kingston, Ontario
RARC offers some in-person programming for those located in Kingston and the surrounding areas.
Successful Transition from Elementary to Post-Secondary is a two-year program for students with learning disabilities and ADHD, and their families, in the Kingston and surrounding areas. Program recruitment runs from October to February for grade 7 students. Program activities begin in the fall of the grade 8 year and run through until the summer before grade 9. This program is free of charge, however for students in need of an updated psychoeducational assessment, this will be provided for a fee.
On-Line to Success Kingston is a primarily online transition program for students in Grade 12 in the Kingston and surrounding areas with learning disabilities, ADHD, ASD and/or mental health disorders. Registration takes place from October to December, and the program runs from February to June.

RARC offers a series of online sessions for the parents and guardians of students in grades 7 or 8 who have learning disabilities or ADHD.
We are taking our OLTS course province-wide in a fully online format. This program is for students in Ontario in Grade 12 with a learning disability, ADHD, ASD or a mental health disorder.
TRG Next is a series of online modules for any student, parent or teacher to learn more about how to prepare for post-secondary. Visit the Transition Resource Guide website to access TRG Next.

Host Your Own Program
Do you want to host and run a transition program in your school or setting? You can use RARC’s transition curriculum in your school or setting and run your own program for your students.
This program is for students in grades 7 and 8 with learning disabilities and ADHD. We have created a 10-session curriculum for these students to prepare for secondary, post-secondary and beyond.

RARC has developed a comprehensive Transition Resource Guide (TRG) for students transitioning to post-secondary education. This guide is a 'one-stop shop' for students with disabilities to learn what they need to know to be prepared for post-secondary school in Ontario.
