This page lists scholarships, grants, bursaries, and other financial supports relevant to QTBIPoC students.
BIPoC Financial Supports
Commitment Scholarship (Queen's). Celebrates and recognises demonstrated leadership in and commitment to, racial justice, social justice, or diversity initiatives by a student in their high school or in their community.
Renewable value of $12 000 per year. Application deadline in mid-February. 10 available.
Robert Sutherland Prize (Queen's AMS). For a graduating Black-identifying who has shown leadership and initiative at Queen’s in the areas of anti-racism and anti-oppression in the aim of creating a more inclusive campus environment.

. Admission award for Chinese Canadian students who have demonstrated excellence in 8 selected areas (see website).
Value of $1000. Application deadline in late August. 8 available.
. For graduating Black and/or Indigenous students who are passionate about pursuing a full-time career in Capital Markets.
$10 000 award, executive sponsorship, and an offer to join the Global Investment Banking or Global Markets Summer Analyst Program in Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver. Application deadline in late February.
2SLGBTQ+ Financial Supports
. For an individual who have made a significant contribution through the arts and sciences in promoting the understanding and acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, intersex, queer and two-spirited communities in the Greater Toronto Area.
Value of $10 000. Application deadline in late October. 1 available.
. For gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, two-spirited and queer students who are in financial need and studying at any post-secondary institution in Ontario to attain their first degree or diploma.
Various value amounts. Application deadline in early August.
. To recognise a youth that has taken initiative in addressing discrimination towards 2SLGBTQ+ folks in their school or community.

Bursaries
Admission bursaries are open to incoming first-year students.
General bursaries are typically available to existing students.
Bursaries are available for future and current QTBIPoC students at Queen's accessible through the Admission (future students) or General (current students) Bursary applications in SOLUS. This section outlines some of the bursaries available to QTBIPoC students.
To apply for a bursary, fill out either the Admission Bursary or General Bursary application form on SOLUS. These are general forms that all students use. Using self-identification provided, the Awards Team will match you with bursaries relevant to your identity. For Black Students
Alfie Pierce Admission Award. Based on demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and involvement in and/or contribution to the African or Caribbean communities in Canada.
Betty Harrison Awards for Black Canadian Students. Awarded to Black Canadian students. Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Potentially renewable for 3 subsequent years.
Robert Sutherland-Harry Jerome Entrance Award. Awarded to Black students. Based on demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and contribution to the Black community or other volunteer activities. Potentially renewable for 3 years.
Robert Sutherland Memorial Admission Award. Based on demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and involvement in and/or contribution to the African or Caribbean communities in Canada.
Darren N. Costen Award (Commerce). Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Preference given to Black Canadian students.
Russell Everton Hutchinson Award (Engineering). Based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Preference given to students who self-identify as Black Canadians.
Brad J. Lamb Condominium Award (Engineering). Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. First preference given to Black students from the Greater Toronto Area. Second preference given to Black students from any other region in Canada.
For Indigenous Students
AMS Indigenous Student Award. Awarded to Indigenous student. Based on academic standing and/or financial need.
Catherine E. Abbott Little Entrance Bursary. Based on financial need. Preference given to Indigenous students.
Lindsay Dale Hudson Memorial Award. Based on academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. Preference given as follows: (1) Indigenous students from Nunavut; (2) Indigenous students from the Northwest Territories or Yukon; (3) Indigenous students from elsewhere in Canada; (4) students who are residents of the territories.
Hungerford Family Award (Commerce). Awarded to Indigenous students. Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Preference given as follows: (1) Indigenous students of the Gwich'in ancestry; (2) to Indigenous students from Northern or Western; (3) to Indigenous students from other regions within Canada.
Morrison and Hilary Renfrew Award (Engineering/Nursing). Awarded to Indigenous students. Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. First preference given to Engineering and Applied Sciences. Second preference given to Nursing.
Wasmund Family Indigenous Scholars Award (Engineering). Awarded to Indigenous students based on demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and demonstrated initiative. Potentially renewable for 3 subsequent years.
Wasmund Family Indigenous Engineering Scholars (Engineering). Awarded to Indigenous students based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Potentially renewable for 3 subsequent years.
General QTBIPoC/Other
Commitment Bursary. Awarded to students who self-identify as a member of an underserved or underrepresented group. Based on demonstrated financial need.
Betty Harrison Awards for Visible Minority/Racialized Students. Awarded to Visible Minority/Racialized students. Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Potentially renewable for 3 subsequent years.
Dr. Wycliffe Lofters Memorial Award. Based on demonstrated financial need, academic achievement, and involvement in and/or contribution to the African or Caribbean communities in Canada.
Guang-Hua Admission Bursary. Based on financial need for Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents. Preference given to students who identify as former citizens of China or Hong Kong.
Madge Diversity Bursary. Based on demonstrated financial need. Preference given to students who self-identify as Indigenous, Black Canadians or Visible Minority/Racialized students.
Hugh Parker Memorial Award (ArtSci). Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Preference given to students who actively promote diversity and inclusion in their community.
Commerce Opportunidad Award (Commerce). Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Preference given to students who self-identify as being of Latin American descent.
Strathaven Scholars Award (Commerce). Based on demonstrated financial need, academic achievement and contributions to community. Preference given as follows: (1) Indigenous students; (2) Black Canadian students; (3) Visible Minority/Racialized students. Potentially renewable for 3 subsequent years.
Wright Family Award (Commerce). Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. First preference given to Indigenous students. Second preference given to students who self-identify as Black Canadians or Visible Minority/Racialized students. Potentially renewable for 3 subsequent years.
For Black Students
Betty Harrison Awards for Black Canadian Students. Awarded to Black Canadian students. Based on demonstrated financial need.
Dr. Rosemary Ofei-Aboagye King Award. Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Preference given to Black Canadian students.
Queen's Bursary for Black Canadian Students. Awarded to Black Canadian students. Based on demonstrated financial need.
For Indigenous Students
Arnold J. Noftall Bursary. Based on financial need. Preference given to Indigenous students.
Cartwright-Duncan Trust Bursary. Awarded to Indigenous students. Based on demonstrated financial need.
Harrison Awards for Visible Minority/Racialized Students. Awarded to Visible Minority/Racialized students. Based on demonstrated financial need.
Doris Noftall Bursary. Based on financial need. Preference given to Indigenous students.
Dr. Ronald Calderisi Memorial Bursary. Awarded to Indigenous students. Based on financial need. Preference given to Health Sciences.

Metis Award. Awarded to a Metis student. Based on financial need.
Padfield Award. Based on financial need and academic achievement. Preference given to Indigenous students.
Morash Family Bursary (ArtSci). Based on demonstrated financial need. Preference given to Indigenous students.
Dr. Heather Clarke Nursing Bursary (Nursing). Based on demonstrated financial need. Preference given to Indigenous students.
McPar Nursing Bursary (Nursing). Based on demonstrated financial need. Preference given to Indigenous students.
General QTBIPoC/Other
Amma Bonsu Bursary for International Students. Awarded to international students based on demonstrated financial need. Preference given to students who are citizens of a country in Africa.
Bursary for Visible Minority/Racialized Students. Awarded to Visible Minority/Racialized students. Based on demonstrated financial need.
Iranian Student Memorial Scholarship. Awarded to Iranian students. Based on demonstrated financial need.
ArtSci 1993 Undergraduate Bursary (ArtSci). Awarded to Indigenous, Metis, Inuit, or as members of the African and Caribbean Student Association. Based on demonstrated financial need.
Amir Moradi Memorial Bursary (ArtSci). Awarded to Iranian students. Based on demonstrated financial need.
PwC Diversity and Inclusion Bursary (Commerce). Based on demonstrated financial aid. Preference given to given to students who self-identify as 2SLGBTQ+, Visible Minority/Racialized persons, Black Canadians, or Indigenous persons.
Ratehub.ca Commerce Award (Commerce). Based on demonstrated financial need and academic achievement. Preference given to students who are involved in extra-curricular activities that support and promote diversity or women in leadership at the Smith School of Business.
Enbridge Bursary (Applied Science or Science (Honours)). Based on demonstrated financial need. Preference given to Indigenous, Black Canadian, Visible Minority/Racialized or 2SLGBTQ+ students.
Janssen Bursary for Equity and Inclusion (HealthSci). Awarded to students who self-identify as Indigenous, Black Canadian, 2SLGBTQ+, Visible Minority/Racialized Persons, Persons with Disabilities, or the First Generation from their families to attend a post-secondary institution. Based on demonstrated financial need.
Rocklein Reconciliation Nursing Bursary (Nursing). Based on demonstrated financial need. Preference given to students who self-identify as Indigenous, Black Canadians or Visible Minority/Racialized students.
