My exchange to the Chinese University of Hong Kong was a wonderful experience. I was able to get two major courses transferred through the review and approval of the Undergraduate Chair in the Computer Science Department at ³ÉÈË´óƬ. I transferred two major courses: The Foundation of Artificial Intelligence and Introduction to Operating Systems so that those credits at the Chinese University of Hong Kong can count towards my degree plan. The courses offered by the CUHK are quite challenging, and their junior year AI course is equivalent to the AI course I took in my senior year at Queen's. So, I originally struggled a lot in my study, but the professors and Teaching Assistants at CUHK were extremely supportive and helpful. I went to their Office Hour so many times to solve assignment problems that every Teaching Assistant know me. I am very excited that I have overcome my academic challenges and successfully completed my studies in Hong Kong through hard work.
CUHK is the only university that offers a college experience. There are nine colleges like New Asia, United and Shaw, S.H. Ho, CW Chu and so on. Not like a normal dormitory, CUHK colleges are just like a small community. The college programmes and activities complement the formal curricula by delivering whole-person education and pastoral care. Resident students can attend class, work out, and participate in resident activities like movie night inside the dormitory.
Hong Kong is world-renowned as a culinary capital. There are many delicious foods that fascinate me. Dim sum: bite-sized portions of food made from steamed meat, vegetables, seafood, and fruit, usually served in a bamboo basket. Typically served as part of yum cha, the Cantonese tradition of brunch. Wonton: dumplings with thin skin filled with ground pork. Cha Siu bao: barbecue pork-filled bun. Congee: thick porridge of rice served with other ingredients like meat and fish. I hope I still have the chance to study or travel in Hong Kong in the future and I really recommend everyone to travel to Hong Kong.
