The list of Employment Equity Representatives details university employees who have taken the required training and are designated as EE Reps. The list is updated in real-time鈥攖raining status updates occur instantly when a participant completes an EE Rep training session, while employment details (such as name, email, and faculty/department affiliation) are refreshed daily through an automatic PeopleSoft feed. If a representative鈥檚 training expires, their name is automatically removed from the list that same day.
While all Faculty Appointments Committee and Faculty Personnel Committee members shall adhere to the principles of employment equity, one (1) Member (normally with tenure) of each such Committee shall be designated as the Employment Equity Representative (EE Rep) and shall have explicit responsibility for the Committee adhering to the rules and expected practices that assure equity, and for data collection and reporting per . The Committee member charged with this responsibility shall be selected by the Committee, and shall be a person who understands and is sympathetic to the objectives of this Article. Persons with this responsibility will require training in excess of that foreseen in Article 24.2.1 unless waived by the Parties.
The same principles apply to Staff Hiring Committees as per the Queen鈥檚 Employment Equity Policy and Procedure. One member of the hiring committee will be appointed as the EE Rep. The EE Rep holds a critical role on the committee, as the EE Rep oversees the application of employment equity processes and ensures best practices are followed throughout the competition. The Hiring Manager shall be mindful of the composition of the hiring committee and actively seek to include members who may offer unique perspectives based on factors such as lived experience and seniority. All committee members shall complete Staff Hiring Training to participate on hiring panels. The EE Rep shall also complete the Staff Equity Representative Training. One of the responsibilities of the EE Rep is to use QEAP to ensure all committee members have completed the required training.
Users can navigate the list efficiently by sorting any column by clicking its header. Additionally, the list includes a search function that allows filtering by faculty, department, first name, last name, email address, or staff number. However, only one search term can be used at a time. Sorting is maintained even after applying filters, ensuring smooth navigation.
Clicking on an EE Rep鈥檚 first name, last name, or email address will open their profile in the Queen鈥檚 People Directory Search, providing additional contact details such as phone number, extension, and appointment type. This feature also allows users to quickly send an email by clicking the address listed in the directory. The total number of entries, along with the count of currently displayed results after filtering, is shown at the bottom of the list.
