Nomination period for Chancellor A. Charles Baillie Teaching Award is now open

The Vice-Provost (Teaching and Learning) is seeking nominations for the 2024 Chancellor A. Charles Baillie Teaching Award.
The most prestigious teaching award at Queen鈥檚, the award recognizes undergraduate or graduate or professional teaching that has had an outstanding influence on the quality of student learning at 成人大片. Recipients are selected by a panel consisting of their peers.
鈥淧reparing a nomination is not just about acknowledging the exceptional contributions of an instructor 鈥 it鈥檚 also a celebration of the community of outstanding educators whose collective efforts elevate the academic experience at Queen鈥檚 University,鈥 says Gavan Watson, Vice-Provost Teaching and Learning.
Established in 2003 through gifts from Chancellor Emeritus Charles Baillie and TD Bank, the Chancellor A. Charles Baillie Teaching Award is open to all current Queen鈥檚 faculty members (full-time and part-time) at any stage of their teaching careers regardless of discipline, program, level, or terms of appointment. Instructors may be nominated by a peer or academic administrator or may self-nominate by completing the application form.
鈥淭eaching at Queen鈥檚 University is supported by the work of dedicated educators across disciplines, who affect in significant and meaningful ways the learning experiences and success of students at our institution,鈥 says Yasmine Djerbal, Associate Director, Centre for Teaching and Learning. 鈥淭his award recognizes educators who have gone above and beyond to help our institution cultivate teaching excellence and educational leadership. Officially acknowledged during convocation, award recipients also receive an $8,000 prize.鈥
