The Queen’s Gazette is the university’s primary news and information channel with a mandate to support and promote the strategic priorities of the university. Articles are shared via the Gazette website, the Queen’s Gazette email, and social media.
The Gazette content is created and selected with the Queen’s community in mind, including faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Therefore, items included in the Gazette must be relevant to a majority of the Queen’s University community and support the university’s strategic academic mission.
Submissions are considered and are at the discretion of University Relations, and are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Any submissions must be received at least three to five business days prior to a requested run date.
The In the Media section of the Gazette also highlights a selection of major media mentions that focus on news about the university or feature our faculty experts commenting or writing on their research areas in regional, national, or international media outlets.
The Gazette does not publish letters to the editor or opinion pieces, outside of those created in partnership with The Conversation Canada.
All Gazette items must adhere to Canadian Press style; however there are Queen’s specific exceptions, which can be found in the Queen’s University Style Guide.
