Second Juno Won in School of Music

School of Music instructor Marjan Mozetich is the 2010 winner of a Juno鈥擟anada鈥檚 biggest music award鈥攊n the classical composition of the year category.

鈥淭his is fabulous news. Marjan is one of Canada鈥檚 most performed Canadian composers of classical music, and his Juno is most deserved,鈥 says Professor John Burge, associate director of the School, who won a Juno in the same category last year. 鈥淭he award recognizes the superb recording that the Penderecki String Quartet made of Marjan鈥檚 work, 鈥楲ament in the Trampled Garden鈥欌 a beautifully evocative piece that is richly lyrical and dramatic.鈥

Mozetich鈥檚 Juno-winning recording is on a CD devoted entirely to the composer鈥檚 chamber music, which was released on the Centrediscs label and distributed by the Canadian Music Centre.
