Faculty of Arts and Science stands in solidarity
The Faculty of Arts and Science stands in solidarity with the statement made by Principal Patrick Deane, Provost Rahswah茅rha Mark Green, and Kanonhsyonne Janice C. Hill, Associate Vice-Principal (Indigenous Initiatives and Reconciliation) regarding the 215 Indigenous children found buried on the grounds of the Kamloops Indian Residential School.
FAS also stands in solidarity with the statement made by Kandice Baptiste, Director, Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre.
In her statement, Kandice said 鈥4D stands with Indigenous communities in our shared grief over the loss of life and its impacts on all the generations. Those little ones would have been language speakers, knowledge holders, parents, grandparents, uncles, and aunties. The profound loss of the potential they had to be loved and show love, and the legacies of what might have been, is unimaginable and impossible to process and comprehend.鈥
