Canadian Council on Animal Care

The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) is the national organization responsible for setting, maintaining, and overseeing the implementation of high standards for animal ethics and care in science throughout Canada.

Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs

In Ontario, the use of animals in research is also regulated by the Animals for Research Act which is enforced by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). Unannounced inspections are conducted on a yearly basis to ensure compliance with the Act.

National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs)

The NC3Rs is a UK-based scientific organization dedicated to replacing, refining and reducing the use of animals in research and testing.
