The Indigenous Council of Queen鈥檚 University (ICQU) was established to ensure that Indigenous peoples are regularly engaged in decisions that affect Indigenous programs and services at Queen鈥檚. The ICQU provides guidance on Indigenous initiatives at Queen鈥檚 and is the primary source for advice and assessment on such matters to the Board of Trustees and the Senate.

Co-chaired by a member of a local Indigenous community and a senior university leader, the ICQU includes equal representation from the university (Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, faculty, senior executives, and administrative staff) and local First Nations, Inuit, and M茅tis communities.
