Diane鈥檚 research interests include African studies, Zambian political history, issues of gender and feminism, cultural theory, and social justice. Her dissertation research focuses on the Report of the National Commission on the Establishment of a One-Party Participatory Democracy in Zambia, colloquially known as the Chona Commission, which was a constitutional review commission in 1972 informing the 1973 Zambian national constitution, and its later renditions. Her M.A, History at Queen鈥檚 was a continuation of her M.ES (York University), where she examined issues of gender and culture in colonial and postcolonial Zambia. She is supervised by Dr. Marc Epprecht.
