Department of History Invited Speaker and Conference Fund: Bernice Nugent Bequest
Thanks to the generosity of the estate of Bernice Nugent, a Queen鈥檚 History alumna, the Department of History has funds to support the invitation of speakers, the organization of conferences, panels, workshops, or the presentation of papers at Queen鈥檚 University.
Funding is available on a competitive basis to fund direct expenses incurred in organizing workshops or conferences. Funding for on-campus opportunities is the norm, however, conferences and workshops organized off-campus are welcome to submit any application (for up to $3,000), provided the applicant is one of the principal organizers. Grants larger than $5,000 will typically require application to an external source.
The Nugent Committee will decide which applications are funded in what amounts. The maximum amount will vary from year to year, and the guidelines will be set each spring based on the health of the funds.
