On November 7th the second floor of the grad club was full of faculty, staff and students who gathered to wish Dr. Bailey well in his retirement.
"I don鈥檛 think we could ever measure the positive impact you have had on others because of your many acts of kindness, your guidance and compassion for others." - Cathy Dickison
Dr. Bailey was an outstanding instructor who encouraged his students to think critically and grow as both intellectuals and pass on acts of kindness in their everyday lives.
Comments from his students:
"Your love for your work, your students and your colleagues has been an example that I can only hope to someday achieve myself."
"My time in his class was indeed the perfect capstone to my Queen's experience, and his work makes me proud to be an alumnus of this Department. Professor Bailey not only managed to illuminate the human struggle of the past, but helped to shine a light on the humanity in all of us."
"With confidence, I can assure you that his transformative spirit will continue to reverberate far beyond the corridors of Mac-Corry. One does not have to lead a nation or run a major corporation to inspire positive change in the world. Professor Bailey is doing it one student at a time."
We wish you all the best Richard, thank you for your years of dedication to our Department. We wish you good health and happiness in your retirement!
