The Department of Gender Studies is pleased to announce Taylor Cenac as the new Black Studies Program and Administrative Assistant.
In this role, Taylor will be responsible for the daily administration and operation of the Black Studies undergraduate program, and she will coordinate recruitment events, experiential learning opportunities, and student engagement activities. As Black Studies Program and Administrative Assistant, Taylor will provide administrative, finance, and research support to Black Studies faculty members.
Taylor brings administrative, research, program development, and social service experience to this role; she holds a BAH in Women and Gender Studies (University of Toronto), an MA in Gender Studies (Queen鈥檚 University), and a Social Service Worker diploma (St. Lawrence College). The committee was impressed by Taylor鈥檚 intellectual curiosity, her commitment to learn from and advocate for black and other marginalized people, and her demonstrated ability to action EDII in the community and in the workplace.

Her commitment to the field paired with her experience as a researcher, social worker, and administrator is very impressive.
