The Faith and Spiritual Life Volunteers support the work of Chaplains and Faith and Spiritual Life Student Staff in many ways. Volunteers will be required to take the Identifying and Responding to Students in Distress offered by Student Wellness Services.
Types of Opportunities
Example of some of the type of volunteer opportunities we offer.
Study Breaks and FSL Outreach: We run outreach stations and study breaks to help promote the work of the office and to give students a chance to connect over activities such as Button Making, Puzzle Table, Lego, Bocce or other crafts. Volunteers will help set up and facilitate these tables with FSL Staff. These events take place on both main campus and west campus.
FSL Common Room: Students come to our office at 210 Mitchell Hall to have a quiet break, to study, to have a cup of tea or a snack, for programming and for appointments with Chaplains. We are working to make our space more available for students to drop-in and need volunteers to help greet visitors, and make them feel welcome.
Program and Event Support: Our events and programs sometimes need extra helpers. This might involve set or clean up, helping sign people in, creating a welcoming atmosphere or other duties as come up in the course of events and programs.
