Programs Include:

The Voyagers Spirituality Group:    A peer-led spirituality group for students seeking community who are interested in spirituality, meditation, and reflection.  We hope to provide a fun and safe environment for students to explore and share concepts surrounding spirituality, religion, and philosophy.  We wish to invite and inspire community and space which flowers ideas and perspectives.  Ultimately, this is an attempt to cultivate loving compassion and realize our oneness!

Nap time: Drop in to take a nap, meditate or simply relax in a quiet space. 

Lego in the Lobby: Take a study break and build lego with FSL student staff in the Mitchell Hall Lobby. 

Knit Happens!  Drop-by for knitting and conversation.  BYOP (Bring your own Project) or some supplies will be available.  

Knitting with Grandmas: A new program where you can learn to crochet or knit from grandmas in the community or bring your own project to continue among good company. 

Islamic Studies Circle: A bi-weekly session that will focus on 3 aspects: How to Interpret Qur'an and seek Guidance through it based on our modern day lives and context, Learning the basics of the Elements of Worship in Islam, Deriving Knowledge and Wisdom from the Life of the Prophet and his Teachings. 

Study Breaks:  Watch our Instagram for Study breaks including Button Making, bocce, jigsaw puzzles, collaborative art, and more!

Cooking with Grammas: An Intergenerational cooking program where seniors from the wider community and students work together to cook and share dinner.

Meaningful Meandering (wellness walks): A time for grounding and contemplation.

Weight of the World: A time for prayer, contemplation and compassion for the world and ourselves. 

Neurodivergent Spirituali-tea: (a collaboration with Yellow House) an intersectional, queer- and disability-affirming program for students to explore neurodivergence from the lenses of of faith, peer-led support, and accommodations. QTBIPOC neurodivergent students will have the opportunity to gather around a different discussion topic every month.

Crafternoons: Creative times for reflection and conversation

Snack Time: Drop by for a free cup of soup - while supplies last! 

Board Games: Play board games, meet other students and make sure you remember to eat lunch!

Cookies and Conversation: Meet our team, learn about our services, or just get a cookie and chance to step away from the fun and chaos of orientation week or the exam period.

Small Group Support

Our Small groups are in person and require registration before joining.  Please email chaplain@queensu.ca for more information or to register.

Grief Group: Our Grief Groups have concluded for the term.  We are considering a spring/summer group.  Please email to express interest in that.   The Grief Group will offer six weeks of support for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. Chaplain Heidi will work with the group to create a safe and brave space for sharing and listening. We will also explore ways to integrate our grief and loss into our lives.  Registration required: chaplain@queensu.ca

Students without Parents: (looking for a new name) An opportunity for connection and conversation for students who are separated from their parents through death, estrangement or other reasons. Registration required: chaplain@queensu.ca
