³ÉÈË´óƬ students win Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan Competition
The team of ³ÉÈË´óƬ students behind is celebrating their first prize win from the on Thursday, September 14. Of the 550 initial applicants, 36 were selected to compete in Singapore, six progressed as finalists, and Spectra Plasmonics prevailed as the competition winner.
Mr Malcolm Eade (Queen's ), Mr Tyler Whitney (Queen's and ), Mr Ryan Picard, Mr Christian Baldwin, and Mr Yusuf Ahmed have developed a metal-coated silicon chip that enhances detection of melamine in milk power and reduces the need for complex and costly lab tests.
Their prize package includes $125K in cash, an offer of $100K in VC funding, and service prizes including legal, corporate and marketing. Together, these prizes will help them continue with product development and to bring this technology to the market.
