David Card is a labor economist, best known for his  research on minimum wages, immigration, education, and  inequality. He received his BA in 1978 from Queen’s  University and his PhD from Princeton.  In 1995, he received the American Economics Association’s (AEA) John Bates Clark Prize, awarded to the economist under 40 who has made the most  significant contribution to the field. He was President of the AEA in 2021, and co-recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in  Economics in 2021.
