The Sc'79 Reunion Plan
Friday, Oct. 18:
For those that can make it during the afternoon, there will no doubt be a contingent that will have secured some space on the Clark Hall patio.
Friday night we will meet at Clark Hall Pub. The pub will be open exclusively for Sc'79 from 8 to 9 pm, and then open to others after 9 pm. Get there before 9 pm to be guaranteed entry (with your alumni card). Hats and jackets you may have ordered will be distributed at that time.
Saturday, Oct.19:
Get up, have a cold shower. For those of you not on campus we encourage you to head down to campus on your way to the Donald Gordon Centre (Science’79’s home base for the weekend).
Head to the Smith Engineering Dean's Breakfast at Mitchell Hall, which runs from 9:30 to 11 am.
At noon we will congregate on the lawn at the Donald Gordon Centre (DGC) and walk to the football game when we fall in behind Queen’s Bands expected to pass the DGC around 12:30 pm. The game will feature the Queen's Gaels hosting the Waterloo Warriors. Tickets are $18:50 per head and can be purchased when you register for Homecoming.
After the game spend your free time as you see fit i.e. shower, sleep, or spending time renewing those old acquaintances.
We'll gather for dinner at 5:30 pm for cocktails. A cash bar will be set up just outside our banquet room. Dean Kevin Deluzio will join us for this and provide a few words about the rebranding of the faculty to Smith Engineering, and what it means for Engineering Education at Queen’s going forward. Immediately following Dean Deluzio's address we will be served an excellent meal complete with wine and music.
After dinner we are all free to continue at the Donald Gordon Centre or organize a gang to meet at one of our old watering holes.
Sunday, Oct.20:
Sunday morning may mean two aspirin or a brunch with your old buddy’s before you head home.
