Is the process of learning physics merely a download of information onto blank hard drives? Or do students, who arrive with a wealth of prior knowledge and diverse learning strategies, engage with concepts, instructors, and fellow students to construct an understanding of the physical world? In our new physics education research program at Queen鈥檚 University, we explore strategies for teaching physics to enhance student learning.
Current Areas of Research
- Collaborative learning tutorials
- Peer Instruction
- Physics self-efficacy
- Gender differences in physics
The CAP Prize Exam is a national competition for undergraduate physics students. More information can be found on the Physics website.
