Values, Beliefs, and Moral Distress

Professor Tracy Trothen is in Saskatoon this week delivering two invited keynote addresses to the Catholic Health Association of Saskatchewan. Dr. Trothen is speaking about moral distress, and especially moral distress in the healthcare context. When our values conflict with what we see or do, we can feel voiceless, powerless, angry and sad. Sometimes these conflicts, or experiences of not being true to what we think is important, can build up to the point where we become unwell, quit our jobs, or even change careers.
