The University Student Summer Research Fellowships are designed to give research experience to Queen's students in the Humanities and Social Sciences. These fellowships are highly competitive and seek to hone research skills on student-driven projects as students work with specific faculty members.
This past summer Haleigh Johns, now a 4th year RELS and POLS student worked with Dr. Pamela Dickey Young on a project about religion and voting patterns in the most recent Canadian and American Federal elections.
Frances Macvicar worked with Dr. Sharday Mosurinjohn and Dr. Valerie Michaelson on a project about religious commitment as a positive health asset for young people, by conducting a secondary analysis of qualitative data from over fifty adolescent boys and girls from across Canada.
As a final requirement of the USSRF, students present posters of their work. The attached picture shows Haleigh Johns talking to Dr. Sharday Mosurinjohn about her poster.
