On January 17, 2016, Professor Jason Kelly presented a paper at the International Society for the Study of Religion, Nature and Culture's Tenth Anniversary Conference - "Religion, Science and the Future".  Hosted by the University of Florida, the conference explores cutting edge research in the interdisciplinary fields that contribute to new understandings of religion, nature and culture.

Professor Kelly's paper, "Edward Carpenter: The Lost Prophet of Spiritual Ecology", examines how the 19th century author and activist, Edward Carpenter, utilized the concept of "Cosmic Consciousness" to foster a unique form of environmental ethics that blends a mystical bond with nature with a rationally-based sociopolitical activism.
