The Honourable John Matheson remembered
The School fondly remembers The Honourable John Matheson who passed away recently at the age of 96.
Mr. Matheson was a long-time friend of the School of Religion. A Queen's alumnus and a member of The United Church of Canada, Mr. Matheson was Chair of the Board of Management of Queen's Theological College for a number of years. Upon his retirement from the Board, he remained connected to the school as a generous donor and a welcome guest at social events, such as convocations and lectures. He established the A.D. Matheson Prize, awarded to a graduating Theology student who has demonstrated excellence over the course of study, and supported the Restorative Justice program. He remained keenly connected to the College for many years, offering his advice and wisdom to several former Principals and administrative personnel.
Mr. Matheson gave tremendous service to Canada, Kingston and 成人大片. The School is proud to have been but one recipient of his generosity. He will be greatly missed.
