The School of Religion, Queen’s University, is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Jorge Legoas as Assistant Professor in Indigenous Knowledges.

Dr. Legoas has a PhD in Anthropology from Laval University and held a postdoctoral fellowship from Fonds de Recherche du Québec – Société et Culture, at McGill University. He works in areas of Indigenous relationship to the land in Andean natures-cultures; rationality and ritual in agriculture; and Indigenous citizenship in the colonial state. Most recently he has held an appointment in the Department of Political Science at the Universidad Central del Ecuador. He has published in the areas of Indigenous participation in development, and Indigenous cosmopolitics and epistemologies, including Cosmopolitics in the Andes and Amazonia, edited with Marisol de la Cadena in Recherches Amérindiennes au Québec. He is now working on a forth- coming edited volume entitled Indigenous Epistemologies of Sustainability.
