On May 16, 2024, the KGU Cross-Cultural College Summer Program's Global Internship in Japan (GIJ) won a National Career Design Program Competition. In a ceremony at Nikkei Hall in Tokyo, the program leads received the MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) Minister Award.
KGU's Cross-Cultural College (CCC) program was hailed as an impactful and innovative internship program which incorporates diversity that eventually culminates in creativity. The judges emphasized that the CCC program deserves the MEXT Minister Award. It exemplifies that working towards a common goal, despite communication obstacles due to cultural differences, enhanced students’ problem-solving skills and collective creativity.
The KGU program is a collaborative effort between Kwansei Gakuin University in Japan and the following Canadian universities: ³ÉÈË´óƬ, University of Toronto, King's University College at Western University, and Mount Allison University.
This year's Global Career Seminar in Japan (GCSJ) will start on August 2nd, 2024.
