As Vice-Provost, Global Engagement, Dr. Sandra den Otter is leading the development of the university鈥檚 new Global Engagement Strategy to enhance Queen's global impact in teaching and learning, and research and discovery.
Her term began in August, 2020 and has been extended until 2024.

The Vice-Provost, Global Engagement portfolio oversees and supports strategic international relationships, institutional coordination, communication and collaboration among partners, faculties, schools and units to assist students, faculty members and staff across campus involved in international learning, research and planning.
Dr. den Otter was previously Associate Vice-Principal (Research and International), Associate Vice-Principal (Research), and Associate Dean of Graduate Studies. In addition to leading numerous projects and initiatives in the research portfolio, she advanced equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigeneity in research at Queen鈥檚, including the Canada Research Chair program. She also led the development of research collaborations across the funding agencies, including the New Frontiers programs, and has supported Queen鈥檚 researchers through internal funding programs.
