Congratulations to graduate students, Tiago Angelo, Sarah Hatherly, and Marina Seraine, on being awarded Graduate Student Research Grants from the Geological Society of America (GSA). Graduate Student Research Grants from the GSA are intended to support graduate student research in the geosciences and ultimately enhance the geoscience workforce, as well as to provide career development opportunities for students by gaining experience with grants writing, project development and research, and to increase the diversity of the geosciences through opportunities for students of underrepresented communities to achieve success in research
Congratulations also to Xi Wang, Tiago Angelo and Marina Seraine on receiving On To The Future grants from the GSA. The On To the Future program supports students from diverse communities to attend GSA Connects (the GSA annual meeting), by offering partial travel funding, full meeting registration, one-year membership, mentorship, and special sessions with leadership while at the meeting.
All four students, supervised by Dr. Christopher Spencer, will be attending this year's GSA Connects either virtually or in person in Portland, Oregon, October 13-15, 2021.
