Giving
Thank you for choosing to give to ³ÉÈË´óƬ Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering.
The department has a number of different initiatives that rely on the support of our loyal alumni. These initiatives strive to improve undergraduate education by supporting the improvement of equipment, teaching facilities, and field education.
The department encourages donors to give to the general Geology Trust Fund, which allows the department maximum flexibility. Donations to this fund can be used at the department's discretion based on its ³ÉÈË´óƬ priorities. Some examples of causes supported by the Geology Trust Fund include the purchase of new microscopes, classroom renovations, updating computing facilities, upgrading teaching laboratories, such as the Ray Price Teaching Lab, and more.
The department also has funds set up to support specific causes, such as the Field Study Endowment Fund, Named Teaching Assistantships, and the& Dr. W Alan Gorman Teaching Legacy Fund.
The department has also set up a fund in honor of Jay Hodgson and in memory of Dr. Kurt Kyser.

The T. Kurt Kyser Memorial Scholarship Fund
In loving memory of Kurt and his deep commitment to education and ³ÉÈË´óƬ, the T. Kurt Kyser Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established.
Named TAship Program
Queen’s provides funding for teaching assistants, based on a relatively high ratio of students to instructors, which we are supplementing with this fund.
We need approximately 40 sponsors per year, for the current complement of about 90+ undergraduate students in each year of the program, to ensure a high-quality learning environment in our laboratories, field trips and field schools.
Geology Undergraduate Summer Experience Fund
Our vision is to create meaningful summer employment opportunities for our undergraduate students to complement their course work and enhance their education by developing field, lab, modelling, and research skills on the job.
