Updated COVID-19 isolation protocols

Queen鈥檚 University has updated its isolation protocols for students, faculty, and staff to align with the current provincial guidelines. In line with those guidelines and effective immediately:
- If YOU HAVE symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19 you must isolate:
- For at least five days if you are or are under 12 years of age
- For at least 10 days if you are over the age of 12 and not fully vaccinated, are immunocompromised, or live in a highest risk setting
- If you LIVE WITH someone who has or has tested positive for COVID-19, you do not need to isolate if one of the following applies to you:
a. You have had COVID-19 in the last 90 days, have fully recovered from it, and do not have symptoms
b. You are over 18 years old and have received a third COVID-19 (鈥渂ooster鈥) dose
c. You are under 18 years old and are
If none of (a), (b), of (c) above apply to you, you must self-isolate for at least five days, and are not permitted on-campus. If you develop symptoms, you must isolate even if you are fully vaccinated. For isolation times, see #1(a) and (b) above. Additional details regarding isolation and symptoms can be found on the .

3. If you've been in CLOSE CONTACT with someone who has the virus but you don't actually live with them:
- You are not required to self-isolate, regardless of your vaccination status.
- For 10 days, you are still strongly advised, to: (i) self-monitor for symptoms; (ii) wear a mask in public; and, (iii) avoid being around vulnerable demographics, such as long-term care residents.
