Queen鈥檚 students are diverse in many ways, but there鈥檚 one thing they all have in common: In becoming a member of the Queen鈥檚 community, every student agrees to the Student Code of Conduct, and accepts the university鈥檚 policies, rules and procedures.

鈥淭he Student Code of Conduct is an important document that outlines the university鈥檚 expectations of our students during their time at Queen鈥檚, both on and off campus,鈥 says Principal Daniel Woolf. 鈥淭hese include taking responsibility for their own well-being and making responsible decisions about the physical and mental health, safety and wellness of themselves and others.鈥

The Board of Trustees , following the university鈥檚 comprehensive review of its non-academic misconduct system, which included extensive consultation with the Queen鈥檚 community.

As stated in the code, students are expected to adhere to and promote the university鈥檚 core values of honesty, trust, fairness, respect and personal responsibility in all aspects of University life, academic and non-academic. These core values are intended to inform and guide conduct as students foster mutual respect for the safety, dignity, property, rights and well-being of others.

The Code also describes the kinds of activities and behaviours that constitute non-academic student misconduct, as well as associated sanctions. The principles of development, deterrence, restitution, and where appropriate, restorative justice, will guide decision-makers within the non-academic misconduct system.
