Spring convocation kicks off

Queen’s University hosted the first ceremony of Spring Convocation 2024 on Friday, May 24, with graduates of the Medical Doctor and the MBA – Americas programs crossing the stage in Grant Hall.

The ceremony also featured the installation of Niki Boytchuk-Hale as the 39th rector of Queen’s. The rector is the third officer of the university after the chancellor and principal and acts as an advocate for students with the university’s senior administration. The rector also sits on the Board of Trustees and takes part in other important committees.

Graduates of the Medical Doctor program stand as they are addressed by Jane Philpott, Dean of ³ÉÈË´óƬ Health Sciences.

Convocation continues with six ceremonies being held June 18 to 21 at Slush Puppie Place in downtown Kingston. 

Six honorary degrees will be conferred during these ceremonies.
