New and innovative teaching practices will once again be the focus of the annual Showcase of Teaching and Learning.

Showcase
The Showcase of Teaching and Learning offers a full day of presentations on teaching and learning initiatives and innovations.

The one-day event, hosted by the Centre of Teaching and Learning on Tuesday, May 3, brings together Queen鈥檚 educators for a full day of presentations and discussions on initiatives that are helping them enhance the student learning experience in their classrooms.

鈥淭he value of the Showcase is that it provides our educators the opportunity to present their innovative teaching strategies to enhance teaching and learning at Queen鈥檚,鈥 says Peter Wolf, Associate Vice-Provost (Teaching and Learning) and Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning. 鈥淎t the same time it is also a great opportunity to meet with colleagues from across the university and find out about the teaching and learning initiatives and innovations that are taking place across campus.鈥

Short presentations (15 minutes each) are scheduled in four areas: Assessment of Learning; Course Design; Student Learning; and onQ and Educational Technology.

With so many presentations there is something for everyone with topics such as 鈥淓nhancing Team Learning Through the Use of Peer Feedback鈥 and 鈥淓ngaged and Active Learning Strategies in a 400+ Student Class鈥 in the morning sessions, to 鈥淗ow to Accommodate Students' Personalities in the Classroom鈥 and 鈥淯sing onQ Forums to Motivate Reading and Drive Tutorial Participation鈥 in the afternoon sessions.

The Showcase of Teaching and Learning is being held from 9 am-4 pm at the Kinesiology Building (28 Division St.), Room 101.
