In March 2021, the was released with the purpose of promoting sound digital data management and data stewardship practices, as well as outlining upcoming requirements for institutional RDM strategies, data management plans and data deposit. In response, Queen's released a draft institutional strategy which outlines how we will enable and support the university's research community to promote wise RDM practices, and support access to RDM tools, resources, and infrastructure.
To spread awareness and provide support, the Queen鈥檚 Data Champions (qDC), a group supported in part by funding from the to promote the use of wise RDM practices at Queen鈥檚, designed training and outreach activities, such as the upcoming "RDM Brown Bag Information Series."
The research community is invited to join the qDC team for a 3-part informational series designed to enhance understanding of RDM, the new policy, and its impact. The series will begin by introducing the broader RDM ecosystem, before focusing on specific elements, such as data management plans (DMPs) and data deposit. These sessions will be interactive, feature subject-matter experts, and provide time for Q&A.
Sessions will be hybrid, offered both in-person and online. In-person sessions will be hosted in the Joseph S. Stauffer Library, lower level, room 014. Register in advance to secure your spot in-person or online:
