The Queen’s community is remembering Benjamin (Ben) Jack Martin, who passed away due to a brain aneurysm on Jan.15 at the age of 20. Ben was a third-year geography student in the Faculty of Arts and Science from Glencairn, Ontario. He was a Deans Scholar in both first and second year. He was also studying towards certificates in GIS and Urban Planning Studies. His academic goal was to become an urban planner.
Ben was actively involved in intramural sports, playing soccer, spike ball, and dodge ball. He also was a member of the Ski and Snowboard Club.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests people to consider making a donation in Ben’s honour to the ICU at Kingston General Hospital by calling University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) at 613-549-5452 or by donating online (kingstonhsc.ca/donate, specify ‘dedicate in memory’, allocate to ‘other funds’, designate ‘ICU’). Alternatively, donations in memory of Ben are being accepted by the Bruce Trail Conservancy (brucetrail.org).
