���˴�Ƭ is set to benefit from a $750 million funding initiative unveiled by the Government of Ontario, aimed at enhancing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs across the province. With Queen’s slated to receive $15.9 million in 2025-26, the university plans to expand its capacity to educate a highly skilled workforce, positioning itself as a leader in meeting the growing demands of the STEM job market.

The funding, aimed at providing 20,500 additional STEM seats province-wide annually, underscores the increasing importance of expertise in these fields for Ontario's economy. Queen's recognizes the need to adapt to this demand, especially as applications to STEM undergraduate programs across Ontario surged by 34 per cent from 2020 to 2024. The $15.9 million investment will go towards funding existing enrolment in STEM fields. 

“Prospective students are increasingly interested in STEM fields and this new funding from the Government of Ontario will allow Queen’s University to enhance our support for students as they pursue STEM to address many of the multifaceted challenges facing society today,” says Principal and Vice-Chancellor Patrick Deane. “We are grateful for this partnership and look forward to cultivating a future where excellence in STEM not only flourishes but also integrates seamlessly with broader social and cultural contexts.”
