Human Rights and Equity Office Learning Challenge 2022 extended

The Human Rights and Equity Office Learning Challenge 2022 has been extended until the end of 2022. Students, staff, and faculty can participate in the challenge, which is focused on courses covering equity, inclusion, sexual and gender diversity, human rights, accessibility, and sexual violence.
Those who participate and complete courses specific to their position (student, staff or faculty) by Dec. 31, 2022 will earn a certificate acknowledging completion of the courses. All courses, which are self guided, selected for the learning challenge are additional offerings to the training catalogue.
Participation in the challenge, which was originally scheduled to end in April, is not mandatory.
The HREO Learning Challenge is in its first year. Due to the initial success, the decision was made to make it an annual challenge. The next HREO Learning Challenge will start in 2023. Each year, offerings that are distinct will be brought forward for the challenge, showcasing the full spectrum of information and knowledge related to Equity, diversity, inclusivity, and Indigenization.
Courses broken down by position include:
Staff – Introduction to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; Call It Out; Respect and Safety in the Workplace; Positive Space (Positive Part 1 and Part 2 required for completion); Creating Accessible Docs.
Faculty – Power, Privilege & Bias; Conversations on Decolonization; Navigating Difficult Conversation; Inclusive Responsive Teaching; Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
Students (undergrad and graduate) – Introduction to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; Call It Out; It Takes All of Us; Lead, Include, Transform (virtual classroom); Positive Space (Positive Space Part 1 and Part 2 required for completion).
