Media Advisory: Leaders from fields of post-secondary education, the arts, and national politics set to receive Honorary Degrees at Fall Convocation ceremonies

During Queen’s University’s fall convocation ceremonies from November 13 to 17, three honorary degree recipients will be available to speak with the media. The ceremonies will be held at Grant Hall, at Queen’s University.

Ceremonies will take place at 10:00 am and 2:30 pm daily. 

What: Media is invited to attend the fall convocation ceremony and speak with select honorary degree recipients.

When: November 13-17, 2023

  • Interview opportunities must be arranged ahead of time

Where: , Queen’s University

Who: Available to speak to the media are:

  • Suzanne Fortier: Former Principal of McGill University. Suzanne is also a former Vice-Principal (Academic), and Vice-Principal (Research) at Queen’s University, as well as a former Professor of Chemistry at Queen’s University.
  • m. nourbeSe philip: An essayist, novelist, playwright, reader, and thinker, nourbeSe philip has received numerous awards from the Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council grants.
  • Joe Clark: Former Prime Minister of Canada (1979-1980) and former leader of the Progressive Conservative Party from 1976-83 and 1998-2004.
