Provost appoints associate vice-principal, international

Alan Harrison, Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), has announced the appointment of Kathy O鈥橞rien as associate vice-principal, international, effective June 1.

Ms. O鈥橞rien came to Queen鈥檚 in 2003 and for the past six years has served as executive director of the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic). Over the past six months she assumed the additional responsibility of leading the international portfolio on an interim basis.

鈥淜athy has done a great job in an interim capacity while continuing as executive director in the Provost鈥檚 Office and I am delighted that she has accepted this appointment,鈥 says Provost Harrison. 鈥淎n important part of her role over the coming months will be wide consultation with the Queen鈥檚 community as she refines goals and benchmarks in all areas of our international strategy.鈥

Ms. O鈥橞rien arrived at Queen鈥檚 in 2003 as a major gift officer, working in the Faculty of Arts and Science. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in French from Carleton University and a Master of Public Administration (Management) from Dalhousie University.
