Four law alumni among Canada's 'rising stars'

Queen’s graduates Frédéric Cotnoir (Law’99), Paul Guy (Law’03), Leanne Krawcuk (Law’97), and Justin Mooney (Law’02) have been named by Lexpert magazine to its prestigious list of Canada’s Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40.

Rising Stars celebrates the outstanding contributions of Canada’s top young lawyers to the legal profession.

Mr. Cotnoir practises corporate and securities law with McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Montreal and has been frequently nominated as his firm’s Mentor of the Year.

Mr. Guy, who recently argued before the Supreme Court of Canada, is a partner at WeirFoulds LLP in Toronto, specializing in corporate commercial, insolvency, and public law litigation.

Ms Krawcuk practises in mergers and acquisitions at the Edmonton office of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP and is deeply involved in the community. Among other causes, she chairs the governance committee of the Women Building Futures Society and has acted as a pro bono legal advisor to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation.

Mr. Mooney, who works in corporate and real estate law at Davis LLP in Toronto, is also qualified as a lawyer in England and Wales. He is a founding director of the Richmond Hill Philharmonic Orchestra.
