Heather has taught in the English Department at Queen鈥檚 since 2014, after almost a decade of teaching at Carleton University. A comparatist by training, she works in the areas of Canadian, Quebecois, Indigenous and Diaspora literatures. Her publications include work on the literary road narrative; studies of space, place and sovereignty; literary nationalism; and comparative studies. She is currently working on an internal SSHRC funded project entitled 鈥淗ow to Be at Home in Canada: Literary Land Claims in Indigenous and Diaspora Texts,鈥 and is deeply engaged in demonstrating the relevance and impact of stories and literary production in all areas of contemporary society.
