Library study sessionAcademic Success Workshops

Workshops provide practical strategies and techniques to develop academic skills and are appropriate for all years. Topics include citations, how to write literature reviews and essay writing. Workshops will also be provided by specialist members of staff and faculty including sessions on information searching given by our Librarians. Please contact Isabelle Brent for further information on specific workshop dates.

Drop-in Sessions

Over the course of the year we will hold a number of drop-in sessions on a range of topics to provide hands-on feedback and support. Topics will include finding information, formatting citations, and essay writing.

Academic Coaching

One-to-one academic coaching sessions are available to help improve particular skills. Topics may include academic motivation and goal setting, developing a study plan and revision strategies. If you have an area you want to focus on, or would like an 'audit' of your study skills, make an appointment. Writing Support Academic writing is key to success at university for most subjects and needs to be developed. Individual writing appointments can help refine essay and assignment writing skills, ranging from the organization of ideas, to the structure and flow of papers. Contact Isabelle for more details.

English Language Support

The Student Success Coordinator provides additional support for students who speak English as an additional language. Support is available to students from all backgrounds, not only exchange students and recent immigrants to Canada. One-to-one teaching and small group work focuses on listening, speaking and writing in an academic context.
