Last week our first and second year M.A.C. students teamed up with the students from the Fleming College Collections Conservation and Management program to tour the Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI), and the Canadian Museum of History (CMH). Together the students were introduced to the laboratory facilities, conservators, conservation scientists, and various ongoing projects at CCI. The second year M.A.C. students were also provided with the opportunity to discuss their final research projects with CCI specialists. During their tour of the CMH, the students were invited to the vaults to learn about the acquisition processes that take place at the museum, in addition to exploring the object, paper, and textiles labs.
