Dr. Stephanie Dickey, Professor and Bader Chair in Northern Baroque Art, was interviewed by the BBC this week on the restoration of Rembrandt's The Night Watch. Prior to the actual restoration, the painting will be scanned millimetre by millimetre in order to photograph the painting's many layers of paint, thus revealing more to researchers about Rembrandt's process. This scanning will take several months and will be live streamed from the RIJKS Museum in Amsterdam, where the restoration is taking place.
