No personal data held by Queen鈥檚 was at risk when a software company server containing some Queen鈥檚 data was subjected to a ransomware attack in May 2020.
The data in question was aggregated philanthropic data that did not contain any personal or identifiable information. The ransomware attack was on July 16, 2020, and the university was informed by the company that some of its de-identified aggregate data was involved.
Queen鈥檚 does not currently use Blackbaud software. The university takes the security of its data and the privacy of its information seriously and has been assured by Blackbaud that no personal information was compromised in the incident.
